Arrow In-game Mouse Pointer Contrast Problem

Is there any way to improve on the in-game mouse pointer appearance? I am often losing track of its location in some battles. If I'm quick enough and hit the Ctrl key I'll get a radiating bullseye to locate where it is quickly. I'm just thinking there should be a better solution to avoid losing contact with it in the first place?

Arrow ...Or how to finally learn to play the game right?

I have to tell you of a "discovery" I've made... It is much easier 9 out of 10 times to hit 'C' or 'Tab' and then something in the bar to attack then chasing a mob with the pointer or caring whether I've lost track of the darn thing in a battle.

However...

Sometimes the 'C' key doesn't seem to register until pressing it maybe several times. I have good reason to feel that I do not have a sticky key. Is there some in-game reason I see this? Is this why chasing with the pointer sometimes misses too--because some left-mouse clicks are not registering?

Thanks.

I have a 5 button mouse and have button #4 assigned for nearest enemy and button #5 assigned to the "next" enemy. Works pretty well.

I am a mouse/button pusher, I have never been a keyboarder and am too old to change my ways now.

Back in my DAoC days, I knew players that never used the mouse at all, they simply controlled everything they did in-game via the keyboard. That's a very high performance way to play, but one I have never mastered.

Geez...You posted this just before me... Ditto!

All kinds of discoveries I should think about and try.

Why would I want to target myself--my pc?

I play with Henchies only. Does "Called Target" work with them? I read that they pretty much attack who I attack but Stefan (fighter) loves to go off on something before I get a flag planted. I wonder if "Target Self" would stop him?

Called target definitely works with Heroes/Henchies, you will want to use it often.

I just use my left hand for the CRTL key on the left side of the keyboard and nearly everything else I do with the mouse.

This is an easy fix. this is a feature of windows not a bug. Error or Corruption.

Visit your Windows Control Panel, Look for Mouse and open up the configuration Dialog for it. Click on Pointer Options, then Uncheck 'Show Location of My Pointer when I press CTRL'. Then click apply and close the Dialog. The Bullseye effect should now be gone. This feature will work everywhere globally, even on the desktop if you just hit ctrl when the option is active.
